The Week of March 1-7 is Chamber Golf Week on Hilton Head Island
03.1.10 02:42 PM

The state of South Carolina has gained its well-deserved reputation as a fantastic golf destination by offering locals and visitors alike some of the best golf courses the country has to offer. One of the most popular South Carolina Golf destinations, Hilton Head Island SC attracts millions of visitors to its world class courses each year. Its mild temperatures, gorgeous ocean views, and challenging courses are impossible for most golfers to resist. This year, the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce is inviting golfers from all walks of life to the first ever Chamber Golf Week. Taking place March 1-7, 2010, the proceeds from this week-long celebration of South Carolina Golf will benefit the Verizon Heritage PGA Tour Tournament and Heritage Classic Foundation.

This fun-filled week will be packed with great golf events for the whole family. Chamber Golf Week will kick off with the first event in a series of putting contests, which will culminate in the Putting Championship Final on Sunday, March 7. These contests will take place at a number of Golf Courses in South Carolina, including Old South Golf Links, Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club, Rose Hill Golf Club, Crescent Pointe Golf Club, the Golf Club at Indigo Run, and Palmetto Hall Plantation Club. Several golf exhibitions will help golfers learn to make the most of their time on the links; the Spring Golf Fashion Show and Luncheon, which will take place at Port Royal Clubhouse from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, will highlight both men’s and women’s fashions for the upcoming golf season; and four golf equipment demos will make it possible for players to try out all the latest gear and gadgets by top manufacturers like Titleist, Calloway, and Nike. Golf forums and professional instruction will be available on certain days, and participants will have the opportunity to “get their plaid on” at the Get Your Plaid On Party at Sea Pines Resort on Friday night. Saturday will include the Golf Week Pro Am at Old South Golf Links and a kids’ clinic at Palmetto Dunes, while Sunday’s Family Get Out and Play Day promises two-for-one adult green fees. Each of these events is reasonably priced and the proceeds will support the Verizon Heritage PGA Tour, which is slated to take place from April 12-18, 2010.

With so many activities and such a great value, you won’t want to miss Chamber Golf Week, so head to Hilton Head SC to enjoy the festivities at your favorite Golf Courses in South Carolina.
