Kiawah Island Golf Offers Ladies Getaway Weekend
02.16.10 10:36 AM

Here is something for the ladies, or lady, in your life that is ready to get away from the cold winter weather. Ladies, if you are like the women in our office, you are really OVER the winter weather outside. Sure, the snow is lovely, and since most of the Southeast has received at least a few inches this past month, we're sure most of you have probably seen your fair share these past few weeks. If not, you've no doubt experienced the frigid temperatures and biting wind that comes with the winter season, as this winter has been a particularly cold one. Kiawah Island Golf Resort has just the thing to help you break the winter doldrums: a fun weekend of ladies’ golf, spa relaxation, and the gorgeous sights and sounds of the South Carolina coastal island of Kiawah Island SC near Hilton Head Island SC. Here are a few details about the upcoming Luxury Golf Vacations that Kiawah Island Golf Resort offers for the ladies’ weekend.

Guests are asked to arrive Thursday, March 5th, where they will be met by a cocktail reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres, a complimentary amenity bag, and a meet and greet session with the Kiawah Island Golf Resort professionals that will be giving the instruction over the weekend. Friday, March 6th, the fun and learning begins and guests are separated into groups of Experienced Golfers and Beginner Golfers. The experienced crew enjoys breakfast, golf instruction followed by a SC Golf Tournament on the Osprey Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island SC, and a boxed lunch. Beginners will have breakfast and enjoy golf instruction on their level followed by a fun 9-hole round on the Turtle Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The following day, groups meet back up and the experienced teams head over to Turtle Point where they will enjoy a supervised practice session followed by a lunch buffet and a round of golf at the Turtle Point Golf Course. Beginners will receive more instruction from the resort professionals and enjoy golf on the Turtle Point Golf Course. Saturday night before dinner everyone is welcome to enjoy a special wine tasting and at, 7 p.m., the resort will host the Reception and Awards Dinner for the ladies that attended over the weekend. Prizes will be awarded to both experienced and beginner golfers that have done outstanding jobs.

Over the ladies golf getaway weekend at Kiawah Island Golf Resort SC attendees will receive instruction from the resort's excellent staff. Carol Preisinger serves as the club's Director of Instruction and has an amazing set of accomplishments in women's golf. She was the LPGA National Teacher of the Year in 1998, she was on the Best in State list South Carolina in 2007, and ranked #1 on that list in 2009. She has received numerous awards and mentions in golf publications such as Golf Digest, GOLF magazine and Golf for Women magazine and even appeared on the Golf Channel's Golf Academy Live and Your Game Night with Kelly Tilghman at different points. Also rounding out the club's team of specially trained staff is Abby Welch, an outstanding teaching professional. She was the former captain of the University of South Carolina women's golf team and she is a PGA Class A professional.

The event package at Kiawah Island Golf Resort includes accommodations, two receptions (featuring food and alcohol), an awards dinner, golf clinics and instruction, golf rounds, boxed lunch and lunch buffet, and an event gift bag to take home.
