GolfSC.com Debuts New South Carolina Golf Website!
07.7.09 10:16 AM

GolfSC.com is live and running!  Our goal is to provide up-to-date, accurate information about every golf course in the Palmetto state! There are tons of national and regional golf websites that include all or most of the South Carolina golf courses, but the majority have only one thing in mind - to provide some rough content that simply allows them to post a bunch of advertisers on (mostly discounted airfare to Tahiti or some other exotic location). Another goal of most golf sites seems to be to present an online tee-time service - AGAIN with the obvious goal of generating some commissions for the booking agency.  While there's nothing "wrong" with that, the end result with most golf websites is that the information about the golf courses themselves is inaccurate.

We asked one of the co-founders of the website, Mike Doble, what his thoughts were regarding accuracy, "When we began looking at various golf course websites in the state, we found most if not all were still including 'Bay Tree Golf Plantation' as one of the Myrtle Beach Golf Courses available to play.  Bay Tree has been closed for nearly two years or more. "

Doble adds, "You can view any number of golf websites, nationally, state or regional and find five different websites relating different names for golf pros at one resort, and most share incorrect greens fees and more. It is painfully obvious that the primary goal of most of these websites is to create a stage wherein the owners can sell tee times, etc. What we want to do is provide good, promotional information about every golf course in the state that will provide accurate and useful information for the golfers that want to play there."

Doble and his team are in the process of contacting every golf course in the state to make the course management teams aware that they are now able to control all of the content, data and photographs that will appear on GolfSC.com about their course.

GolfSC.com is the sister website of GolfNorthCarolina.com which began operation in 1998 and has long been the most visited golf website based in North Carolina. GolfNorthCarolina.com is top ranked for most North Carolina golf searches via Google, MSN, Yahoo, Ask.com and most all of the search engines!

With more than 120,000 pageviews each month the website provides a unque approach that they are including in the GolfSC.com campaign.  Doble explains, "The problem with most national and regional golf websites is that there are approximately 900 golf courses located in North and South Carolina.  It would take a huge team to stay up-to-date with ever-changing greens fees and course changes that happen throughout each year.  There are thousands of golf events, tournaments, clinics and changes in golf pros, etc.  What we've done is work to make each golf course management team a part of our team. THEY can now control all of the content, photos, green fees, stay and play packages and more for their own course page on GolfSC.com and that will insure that the information that golfers seek is accurate!"

GolfSC.com also offers FREE Golf Handicap tracking, links to great restaurants, hotels and businesses within each South Carolina Golf Course Community.

All of the state's tourism departments are preaching the importance of staying, playing and spending money in the state of South Carolina and GolfSC.com will work towards taking that concept to such a degree that they will only allow in-state advertising and participation.  There will be no promotions to direct people to vacation around the world, etc.

Coming online in the next several days and weeks will be many features that are found nowhere else on the internet featuring golf courses, lodging, dining, golf real estate and more - all based right here in the Palmetto state!

All of our content will be controlled by our member South Carolina golf courses, hotels, and advertisers! All of it! Each golf course, hotel, car dealership...no matter who loves and supports golf in the state will have total control over promoting all the best that SC has to offer in golf, golf instruction, lodging, dining and all things related to golf in SC!

Pass the word to your friends! We'll be featuring all the news that IS news in the state - from the most recent hole in ones, to how to shave strokes off your score, to the best place to pick up that new driver you've been looking forward to swinging this Summer!

We hope you'll check back often as there is a lot of "dust still settling" around the site. New features will be coming online almost daily.

Thanks...

Team GolfSC.com!
